With the second anniversary of Prince’s death pending on April 21, what better timing to unveil “4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince.”

The show – the first and only estate-approved Prince celebration – is curated, produced and directed by The Roots’ drummer Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, a noted Prince fan and scholar.

“4U” comes to Verizon Amphitheatre at 8 p.m. Sept. 15. Tickets are $29-$99 and will go on sale at noon April 20 at www.ticketmaster.com, the Woodruff Arts Center box office and by calling 1-800-745-3000.

Questlove will not perform at the show, but a band selected by the longtime musician will play from Prince’s catalog alongside the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

The production will also feature a video presentation with previously unseen footage courtesy of Prince’s estate.
