NASHVILLE – There is definitely something percolating in Sugar Land.

Fans of Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles likely perked up while watching the Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday night and seeing them come out to present the award for vocal duo of the year together.

“Funny seeing you here,” Nettles cracked to Bush.

Later that evening, the duo took to a small stage upstairs at FGL House in downtown Nashville to perform as Sugarland for the first time in five years.

While nothing “official” has been announced, it was obvious by the pair’s actions and camaraderie that a Sugarland reunion is imminent.

Armed with guitars and fueled by a crowd that packed the room at the Big Machine Label Group after-party, Bush, who still lives in Atlanta, and Nettles, who resides in Nashville, played their hits “Baby Girl” and “Stay” as if time were frozen in the mid-‘00s.

Sugarland never disbanded, but both members have used the past few years to explore other opportunities – acting, Broadway and a solo career for Nettles; penning the score to a musical (“Troubadour”), producing (Lindsay Ell) and pursuing solo work as well for Bush.

Stay tuned…
