SiriusXM listeners have a couple of new channel choices.
Turbo (Channel 41) will showcase hard rock from the 1990s and early 2000s (think Linkin Park, Korn, Papa Roach, System of a Down and Limp Bizkit) while PopRocks (Channel 17) will focus on artists from the ‘90s and 2000s (The Killers, Coldplay, Sheryl Crow, No Doubt).
Both channels debut Thursday.
The additions have caused a ripple effect with movement among the previous occupants of those channel positions.
Faction, which used to be housed on Channel 41, is now on Channel 314. It isn’t available on all radios, but can be heard, however, on SiriusXM streaming or the app (as Channel 314 in the rock category).
SiriusXM Love, the usual tenant of Channel 17, has been moved to Channel 70. The channel is currently airing Yacht Rock selections, and will continue that format until 3 a.m. Sept. 6.
In other moves, the Limited Edition Channel, currently broadcasting Carolina Shag Radio through Sept. 6, has shifted form Channel 13 to Channel 4 and been renamed Spotlight. And Pitbull’s Globalization, formerly on Channel 4, can now be heard on Channel 13.
